Our summer has been pretty uneventful in the "getting away from the house and having fun" category. It has been very eventful in the "never leave home and find creative ways to stash craft supplies" category. We realized that school was just a couple weeks away, so we'd better hurry and have some fun in the sun.
Lee's captain has a trailer home in Sweetwater at Beat Lake, and he invited us to go stay there. We had it all to ourselves, and it was so nice. Lee brought his banjo, and Sophia was so excited to sing around the fire. Isabelle is obsessed with sand, she couldn't get enough of it! I don't know what grandma is going to think of that.
We went through the Minnetonka cave and saw all the "awesome" mineral formations. Many of you know that Isaac is a boy of few words, well, we were walking in front of a couple teenage boys, and it didn't take long for Isaac to pick up the word they kept repeating. So, Isaac's newest word is "Awesome". He thinks it means: a lot of cold rocks.
We were very happy to have Isaac in a backpack, and the cave is happy to still have some stalagmites intact. Lee is a great pack horse!
My favorite part of our cave trek had to be when our guide pointed out the earthquake fault line above our heads. This was when we were a couple thousand feet into the cave. Thanks Mr. guide! What a reassuring thought as I am deep in the mountain with my entire family.
Happy to not be beneath the fault line!
This picture reminds me of this.

WOW! I looks like you guys had so much fun!! I love the picture of Isabelle and the bright yellow umbrella and blue sky. What a fun family. I love the idea of Lee playing the banjo and the whole family just hanging out.
That's funny!! Sophie and I will have to compare notes on our dorsal fin experiences!!
Looks like a great vacation...fault lines and all!
Isabelle looks so long in her snuggly. She's getting too big too fast!
Looks like you all had a great time!! You're making such good memories together.
Looking forward to seeing you.
xoxoxo
Looks like fun! I hope you're not all Bear Laked-out! We definitely need to go up again. ...Just as soon as I dig myself out from under these boxes. (Moving really makes you hate your stuff.)
